Help with Hoopla

What is Hoopla?

Hoopla is an online streaming service that is free with your Library card. You can watch movies, listen to audiobooks and music, and read comic books on your computer or mobile device.

Because an unlimited number of people can be watching or listening to the same item at the same time, there are no waiting lists, due dates, or fines.

Setting up an account is easy and free with your Library card. Stream as many as 20 titles per card per month. Movies can be viewed for 3 days, music enjoyed for 7 days, and comics and audiobooks for 21 days before automatically disappearing from your account.

Kids Mode

Kids Mode allows parents to make Hoopla child friendly by asking it to display only materials suitable for ages 12 and under.

To activate it, create or log in to your Hoopla Digital account. Depending on the type of device you are using, click either the gear icon, the three dots icon, or the “Settings” option in the top right hand corner. All of these will take you to a settings page where you can flip a switch to turn on Kids Mode. For detailed directions with pictures, click here.

Please note, the Kids Mode feature is not intended to replace actively monitoring what kids are viewing, listening to, and reading. At this time, Kids Mode can be turned on and off by anyone using the account.
