Join Jamie Novak and learn a few simple organizing tricks for key areas of your home and life. Come for a laugh (or two) and learn how to easily clear the clutter and store the stuff. No more saying, “Where did I put that?” or “I’ve been looking for this!” If you procrastinate, lose papers in a stack of mail, and have a 2-page to-do list then this is the program for you!

Be an ESL Tutor through Literacy Volunteers of Pascack Valley

Meet new people from around the world, become involved in bettering your local community, and hone your teaching skills by becoming a literacy volunteer!


  • Receive 12 hours of free training.
  • Assist individuals who need English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction or help English speaking adults improve their reading and writing skills.
  • Meet with their assigned student for 1 to 1.5 hours per week at the Emerson Public Library at a mutually convenient time.

ESL Classes

The Emerson Public Library hosts one-on-one ESL classes taught by local volunteers. To sign up for classes, please visit the library and fill out an application card with your name, contact information, and what days/times you are available. We will give this card to the ESL coordinator, Fran Ianora, who contacts students directly to arrange classes.
